In 2019, Cornerstone OnDemand wanted an engaging way to showcase a new marketing campaign at their annual Conference.

Cornerstone launched the ‘5 for 20 Challenge’ campaign around the importance of employers investing in their employees through ongoing training programs, to decrease turnover and ultimately save millions of dollars (generally, if employees invest 5% of their time into training, this could potentially help decrease turnover by 20%). My team was hired to build an immersive installation and mobile app for sales reps to use on-site to garner interest in signing up for the challenge.

My role | I worked with Cornerstone directly to determine what would best fit their needs within a relatively small budget. I led the initial scoping as well as budget management throughout the project, while overseeing a Project Manager who managed the day-to-day functions necessary to bring the display to life. I helped mitigate any discrepancies between the developer we hired for the mobile app, the print vendor for the on-site installation, and communication between my creative team and the client.

Biggest challenge | The developer we sub-contracted to build the ‘5 for 20’ calculator for the mobile app, said he anticipated the project would be fairly quick and smooth. As we got into it, it turned out there were issues that would make the email collection portion harder to complete within the time we had. I worked with the dev team closely to understand what the client needed to do on their end to update their email intake system, so we could solve the problem quicker. After many late-night phone calls, and some back-and-forth with clients, we reached the finish line in time with happy clients.

Results | Cornerstone reported back after the event that the physical display and mobile app were a big hit; they were able to gather around 20 sign-ups on-site for the ‘5 for 20 Challenge’, which was above their projections and a great start to building the program.
